The Lafayette Place Improvement Association (LPIA) plans and implements various annual activities. The annual association dues fund these events and activities. Although many events were cancelled in 2020 due to COVID, most are back for 2021! See below.
Dates for 2021 are:
The Great American Cleanup – This City-Wide event was held Saturday May 1 and Lafayette Place residents participated. We had 23 adults and 6 kids cleaning up trash and storm drains throughout the neighborhood! A record for Lafayette Place!
Dirt Day – Saturday, May 29. 7 cubic yards of peat, sand and black dirt are divided among the north and south ends of the Esplanade and McKinnie Circle for residents use. One wheel barrel per household until noon, then unlimited amounts may be taken. (May be canceled if hard rain or storms)
Association Garage Sale – Scheduled for Friday June 11 and Saturday June 12. A classified ad will be placed in the newspaper announcing this addition-wide event.
A Night of Music – This much anticipated event is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, 7pm to 10pm. This has become one of our most popular events. THE TODD HARROLD BAND will entertain at the Gazebo with 3 hours of great music, from R&B to soul, rock & jazz! Bring a blanket or a lawn chair & your favorite refreshments – it’s free and open to the public!
Trick or Treat – This event is not scheduled to return in 2021 due to COVID precautions.
